15 Year Reunion Concert

What can I say about the 15 Year Reunion Concert of The Calvary Quartet this past weekend....It has almost been a surreal experience. I've been working steadily on putting the concert together since September so I've been deeply involved in every tiny detail--designing tickets, catering a dinner for the musicians and families on Friday night, painting props, going through the song list with Terry....

It was such a special experience for Terry and I to have all of the singers and pianists together on Friday night. We had dinner together with all of the musicians and their families on Friday evening then went right into a full rehearsal of the concert. I noticed how everyone was visiting with each other, no matter which group they sang with. It was fun to see everyone having fellowship and getting to know each other. By Saturday afternoon it seemed that everyone had known each other all along. There was a sweet spirit of unity--it was incredible to experience.

The concert itself was an amazing experience. It was more than just guys singing songs together. Each song was presented as a testimony to God's grace. The music was incredible, the presentation came together just as we had envisioned it, and the Spirit was evident in the auditorium. We've received many comments from folks who attended the concert. Some with hurting hearts felt some healing, some decided to trust the Lord in their difficult circumstance, and some even had the joy of their salvation and faith in God restored.

It was all worth the time and effort put into the planning all of the details. To know that Christians were encouraged is so satisfying. It encourages my heart to know that the mission of The Calvary Quartet is being lived out as we "minister to hearts through gospel music."
